About Us
Scag has been in the Smith blood for a long time. George Smith, the original "Scag Smith”, started selling Scag in 2009 during the off season of farming. George grew a large following to not only mower sales but small engine repair. In honor of George, Greg (his son) decided to keep up the Scag legacy.
Steve (Potter) has been working on small engines since his youth. After High School, he attended Nashville Auto Diesel College. Steve began repairing and accessorizing powersports equipment as well as lawn & garden equipment during slow times on the farm (his full time job). In 2016, Steve started 1zero3 Powersports Services. 1zero3 operated out of a one stall garage until 2020 when he expanded to a storefront in Princeville, Illinois. In 2021, The Smith and Potter clans united to form Smith & Potter Equipment. Since 2021, we have continued to expand, adding numerous manufacturers to our line up. Our utmost goal is to be able to serve our customers the
best we can and provide excellent customer service.
If you come on any given day you will most likely always see a Smith or Potter face whether it's Beth (Steve’s wife), Ann (Greg’s wife), or any of the Potter kids. It really is a family affair up here and just how we like it.
